GOLD MEDALIST. GYMNAST.
I competed at the 2008 Olympics games in Beijing, China. Hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide watched as a 16 year old me win four medals including gold on the balance beam. I had practiced gymnastics since the age of 3, so this was a very rewarding experience. After the Olympics, I took a two-year hiatus from competitive gymnastics. However, I returned to training in 2010 in an effort to make the 2012 Olympic Team. Just weeks before Olympic Trials, I was forced to withdraw due to injury and retired from the sport. As athletics was still a passion, I became a certified Nike trainer, but I had spent my entire life focusing on gymnastics and at this point had no idea what would come next.

In June of 2012, my second book Winning Balance: What I’ve Learned So Far About Love, Faith and Living Your Dreams, was published and quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. I had a blast writing this and sharing some trials and tribulations with the amazing community that supports me.
