Bio
Dr. Sankar is the first Distinguished University Professor of North Carolina A&T State university (N.C.A&T) in its years history and made N.C.A&T a national powerhouse in advanced materials research. He serves/d as director of Army, DoE, Navy, multiple NSF, and Site coordinator for the NSF- NSEC Center, in addition to many research programs with NASA, AFRL and industries. Also under his leadership, N.C.A&T made history ( ) as the lead to house the NSF’s crown jewel Gen 3 -ERC for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials (RMB) and as the 1st HBCU to create a Bioengineering program. In , as a Co-lead with the OSU he won the NSF Gen 4 -ERC for Hybrid Autonomous Manufacturing Moving from Evolution to Revolution (HAMMER) (back-to-back ERCs) another first in the history of NSF.

Dr. Sankar has organized and sponsored more than 25 international conferences/symposia around the world and has given more than 60 Plenary/Keynote addresses in major research get-togethers around the world on the areas described above.

Subramaniam Lakshminarayana (born 23 July )[1] is an Indian violinist, composer and conductor, trained in the classical Carnatic music tradition and Western classical music.[2][failed verification]
Early years
[edit]Subramaniam was born in Madras, Madras Presidency, British India,[1] to V. Lakshminarayana Iyer and Seethalakshmi, both accomplished musicians.[3]
He lived in Jaffna during his younger years, taking up music studies before the age of five.[4] He began training in violin under the tutelage of his father, Professor V. Lakshminarayana. "Mani", as he is fondly known by fellow musicians and his family, gave his first public performance at th
