    Summer vacation isn't just for kids: these teachers like it, too

    INDEPENDENCE, CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS -- "No more pencils, no more books. No more teachers' dirty looks." Many people forget that summer vacation is a time for teachers to vacation and rejuvenate, too. Sometimes, they want that last bell to ring just as much as the kids do.

    With three months off work, many of these teachers do special things they can't do during the school year. Some take part-time jobs, while others spend time with their families.

    These three teachers like to take a different approached to their holidays. Local educators Diane Noice, Kathy D'Aquila and Emily Witschi go on adventures and explore their horizons. They go out into the "real world" before they have to return to the classroom.

    Noice goes out to find her winged friends around the continent. D'Aquila dives to the deepest depths to find her adventure, and Witschi puts the work in working artist.

    Hosted by Canadian stage stalwart Diane D’Aquila, the event is a discussion among actors, directors, and writers that D’Aquila has worked with over the last four decades. In one description, the event was billed as, “All the shit they don’t teach you in theatre school.”
